Information at IUJ and in our Network:

  • IUJ Subscription to Vault.com - Access available only to IUJ students registered with CC&S and only from on-campus computers.  See Gretchen for details.
  • IUJ Membership to MBAExchange.com  (To use MBAExchange, Gretchen must register your name, class, degree and @iuj email address. They will send you your password.  See Gretchen to get started.)
  • IUJ's Career Library Holdings related to your job hunt: resumes and cover letter help, to industry guides and leads to International Organizations, etc.
  • "!!Resources you should Know about and Use.doc" is on the iuj-home/CC&S folder and where I put new info regularly.  Here is the copy from August 2009.  Info below is just a quick start.

  • Researching Companies - before you apply to a company you should know as much about it as possible. Certainly before you interview you need to research the company thoroughly. These links will help you.

CareerCross - 外資系転職情報 CareerCross.com is a MUST place to registered for all IUJers hoping to work in Japan.  It offers job hunt tips, resume banks, cover letter and resume samples, job postings by companies and executive search firms, and an email service for new job postings as they are posted. This site also offers some basic information for living in Japan, getting set up in Tokyo and leads to health insurance, etc. The site is Bilingual.

MBAExchange.com 

IUJ entered a new relationship in early 2007 with this service for our business focused students and alumni.  You need NOT be in the MBA program to use this, but should be looking for a career in the business fields.  If you are not registered, see or contact Gretchen.

Daijob.com knows IUJ well. They list bilingual jobs online, offer search tips, living in Japan tips, and much more. Watch for their information in the Wednesday Daily Yomiuri too.  Subscribe to Terrie's Takes to keep abreast of interesting news about and that affects business in Tokyo.  Get info from their WorkingInJapan.com resource pages too.

This service is new to the IUJ community, and has a wealth of job listings in Japan or those overseas requiring Japanese, from Accounting to Legal to Transportation and Logistics, and more.

The Wall Street Journals, CareerJournal.com is a free e-magazine subscription with good corporate info and leads, salary advice, and much much more.

Wetfeet.com offers a lot of good advice and timely topic articles to help you in the job hunt.  They also have salary converters and guidelines, tips for the current economic situation and much more.

Vault.com is helpful in getting info on specific companies and industries.  Many items are free of charge, some you need to pay for.  Lots of advice and guidance for free.

is a recruitment consultancy based in the UK.  Besides job leads, they also offer guidance on resumes, cover letters and interviewing techniques, and more.

  This is a new resource to check out.  Their coverage: asset management, brokers, capital markets, credit, commodities, consultancies, corporate banking, energy, funds of funds, hedge funds, insurance, investment banking, private banking & wealth management, private equity, retail banking and trading houses.  Their  roles: accountancy, audit, compliance & legal, human resources & recruitment, information technology, M&A, operations, quantitative analytics, research, risk management, sales & marketing, strategy & planning, trading and treasury.
