E-Business Management Program (E-Biz)
Adding Value through Internet, Mobile Communications, and Ubiquitous Connectivity -- Degree in One-year

E-Business, earlier thought of as just buying and selling using the Internet, has become an undeniable reality with applications for all kinds of businesses from banking to human resource optimization, from manufacturing to sales, from medical fields to logistic management, and from transforming education to creating new forms of government administration. The "use of information and its delivery to generate tangible benefits" through Internet, mobile communications, and ubiquitous connectivity is the most appropriate way we at IUJ see E-Business.
Practical Relevance
After carefully studying current business needs, we have added practical relevance by linking our curriculum with the "IUJ PLATFORMs" which literally tie what we teach in the program with the most advanced technologies from our partner companies. Notable among them is the world's most advanced Mobile technology from Japan's IT giants. Students can freely use the specially designed E-Business Engineering Laboratory (E-Lab) for testing some of the newest technologies while doing research for a "PLATFORM" or for their theses.
We also bring in IT business executives to teach or give seminars to the students and organize field visits to companies and other places. This itself has become a great source for students to discuss face to face with top business executives in Japan and outside Japan plus exchange contact information for future job prospects.
Enhancing E-Biz with MBA Courses
Students have ample opportunities to pick and choose courses from IUJ's internationally ranked MBA Program. Popular for E-biz students are the Accounting, Finance and Management area courses. Taking MBA courses also gives E-Biz students excellent opportunities to network with their counterparts in the MBA Program who have different backgrounds, and work experience. E-Biz students can also take advantage of courses that the MBA Program offers to improve negotiation and communication skills.
Institutions Recognizing our E-Biz Program
While we receive a considerable number of privately supported students, a large number of Japanese corporations and international organizations also sponsor students through scholarships and various sponsorships thus demonstrating the value of our E-Biz Program. Among such institutions sponsoring students include:
- Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship Program (JDS Program)
- Asian Development Bank (ADB)
- NTT Communications, Corp.
- NTT Comware, Corp.
- East Japan Railway Company
- Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.
- Ryosan Company, Limited
How to Get the Most out of E-Biz Program
This is a one year program. For students who have to go back to their sponsor companies, E-Biz is a great opportunity to intensively enhance their IT and business skills in a short period of one year; international students who have to go back to their jobs back home also fall into this category.
There are students, both Japanese and international, joining this program with a career change in mind. For them, picking up IT management and MBA type skills in one year is useful to find a challenging new career. For international students who want to work in Japan, it is important to take advantage of IUJ's excellent Japanese language program and learn Japanese in order to increase their job prospects.
